Psychotherapist and Counsellor
I’m Naomi. I’m a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, who trained as a therapist at post-graduate level in Melbourne, Australia.
My experience includes working as a psychotherapist for MIND, a university campus counsellor and a crisis line telephone counsellor. I have extensive experience working with young adults and the LGBTQIA+ community. Most recently, I have worked with people navigating life, change and loss throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
Above all else, I provide a non-judgemental, empathic space where you can unfold and be yourself. My way of working is client-led and utilises the relationship between therapist and client as a vehicle for change. Where appropriate, I also bring my experience as a mindfulness meditation teacher into the room. I provide clients with the tools to be able to face and overcome new and old challenges. This may involve cultivating a sense of self compassion and inner peace to allow one to thrive in the fast-paced modern world, or learning to develop a sense of purpose and joy in life.
My practice combines different modalities of therapy, which may include person-centred, compassion-focussed, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic, attachment, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and existential approaches. Themes I work with include interpersonal relationships, sexuality, gender, grief, trauma, anxiety and depression.
I am registered with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
