Individuals

It takes more courage to make the decision to come to therapy than to remain in the shadows wresting with your problems alone.

Most problems can be solved with the help of a friend or family member, but sometimes this just isn’t enough. Often the problem that we are struggling with involves friends or family members or feels too personal so we need a place to try and understand the problem with someone who is impartial and non judgemental. This is where therapy can be useful.

My name is Douglas Clague and I have been a practicing psychotherapist since 2013. I am committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment. Having worked in private practice, the NHS and institutions such as UCL I have a wide and varied experience. I work mainly with adults but also work with adolescents and young people ranging in ages from 13-25 years.
I work on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully. I work with a huge array of issues ranging from anxiety and depression, to relationship problems or issues of sexuality.

I currently work primarily online by Skype, FaceTime, Zoom or phone, but can also offer some face to face sessions as part of a hybrid model.

If you would like to book an initial appointment to discuss your options and what therapy might be able to offer you please feel free to email me at douglas@jdctherapy.com, and I will get back to you as soon as I possibly can.

Fees

I offer a longer session of 90 minutes for an initial consultation and the fee for that is £120.

For ongoing therapy the fee is £85 per weekly, 50 minute session. The price will be discussed and agreed during the initial consultation.

Please note that a lower fee may be available for those on benefits or unemployed. Fees can also be negotiated in the initial consultation dependant on economic circumstances

Memberships

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work to their high standards and ethical guidelines.

I am also a member of FPC (The Foundation of Psychotherapy and Counselling) which is the home for Counsellors, Psychodynamic Psychotherapists, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists and Group-Analytic therapists who completed their training at WPF Therapy, one of the largest and most respected training institutions in the UK.
