People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be affected by past experiences that still feel present, experience challenges in relationships, or find it difficult to express your needs and set boundaries. At times, you may feel low, disconnected, or not quite yourself. You might feel anxious, overwhelmed, unable to switch off or concentrate, or feel stuck and unsure how to move forward.
Sometimes there is a clear difficulty. At other times, especially in a fast-paced and demanding world, there may simply be a sense that something is not quite right. You might wonder whether your difficulties are “serious enough,” or feel unsure about whether therapy is for you. You do not need to have a clearly defined problem to begin. Many people come for a space to think, to understand themselves more deeply, or to feel less alone with what they are carrying.
Therapy is a collaborative process that supports reflection, growth, and meaningful change. It can feel both challenging and supportive, and many people find it meaningful to have a space where they feel heard and understood.
Training, Qualifications and Experience
My approach is psychodynamic. Alongside talking about what’s going on, we look at how your experiences, past and present, may be linked. Over time, this can help you notice patterns in how you feel and relate to others, supporting a clearer understanding of yourself.
Combined with this, I am a trained EMDR therapist. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a structured approach that can help reduce the impact of difficult or distressing experiences. It can be helpful for both single events and experiences that have built up over time. It can support work with trauma that may be held not only in the mind, but also in the body, and continue to affect you in the present.
I hold an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy, a PGDip in Mental Health Nursing, and a BA in Performing Arts. I have also completed the standard training in EMDR accredited by EMDR Europe.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and a full registrant of the British Psychoanalytic Council. These professional bodies set ethical standards that guide my practice.
I facilitate reflective practice groups, as well as mental health and wellbeing seminars and consultations for professionals and teams across a range of settings.
With a background in the Arts, I have an understanding of the particular challenges that can arise around intensity, uncertainty, and vulnerability within these fields.
Before training as a therapist, I worked for over a decade as a senior mental health nurse across a range of settings, which informs my understanding of risk, care pathways, and the wider mental health system.

I provide short and long-term psychotherapy, counselling, and EMDR to adults in London and online. Sessions, including the assessment, are from £80. Some concessionary rates available for students and those on lower incomes.
