We all have a human need to connect; to feel seen, heard and understood. No matter how complicated your life and difficulties feel, one of the fundamental principles of therapy is you do not have to cope on your own.
A therapeutic relationship is unlike any other, with commitment it can lead to profound changes in how you think, feel and choose to live your life. My work is influenced by how we relate to others and the world we live in. I am open-minded and curious, with a focus on helping deepen your understanding of yourself through honest, sensitive collaboration and a willingness to explore different perspectives.
I work ‘psychodynamically’ where we think about how experiences and relationships in early life subtly but powerfully inform the way you make sense of, and interact with, the world around you now. Alongside this, I am a qualified EMDR therapist. Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a specialist technique that helps reduce the ongoing impact of trauma and can be effective in the treatment of both single events and more complex/repeat experiences. I chose to train in EMDR as it focuses on how trauma is experienced and held physically in the body as well as the mind. I use this flexibly in sessions, including work that may explore nervous system regulation, attachment and systemic understanding to make sense of your experiences. Trauma affects almost all of us in some way or another, but it is only one part of who we are.
Anyone is welcome, especially people with marginalised identities.
