I believe that all young people should have the support and opportunities to live a life of their choice. To me this means that they can learn the skills to understand and relate to their inner world while also managing the demands of the external world. I believe that striking this balance can allow young people opportunities to have the experiences that they want to have in the world, build fulfilling relationships, and achieve their goals.

In the time we live in there are unprecedented demands and stressors for young people. These stressors can lead some young people to feel overwhelmed, and disempowered, which may sometimes lead to perfectly understandable coping mechanisms like social withdrawal (school avoidance), negative self talk (sometimes leading to low mood and anxiety), and very high expectations of themselves.

I believe that, with support from their parents and trusted adults in their community, young people can learn the emotional skills they need to navigate life’s challenges and all the feelings that come with these. To support with this, I offer packages of intervention sessions.

In my intervention work, I draw from therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialect Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Attachment Models (Specifically the Circle of Security model). However, I firmly believe that the most important part of therapeutic work is to keep a person-centred approach that keeps the young person and family’s goals and strengths firmly at the centre.

In my intervention work, I tend to work using a systemic approach, considering what interventions can be applied multiple levels of a child’s life (individual work, parent work, work with schools), so that the young person is supported in a holistic way, allowing all their important people to work together to help the young person achieve their potential.

While many children’s needs can be understood without extensive psychometric assessment, I believe that for some young people, it is really important to understand their learning profile and information processing style, to understand how they can be supported to achieve their potential.

In these instances, I offer comprehensive Educational Psychology Assessments, which include school observations, consultations to the young person and their significant people, and some psychometric assessments to understand their cognitive and academic profile.

Experience

I trained as an Educational and Developmental Psychologist at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia.

I first completed a Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) (Graduating in 2009), then a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Graduating in 2011) and then a Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology (Graduating in 2014).

Following this, I received two-years of supervision from an accredited supervisor to become endorsed as an Educational and Developmental Psychologist by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

I also completed the Supervisor Accredited Training Programme through AHPRA to become an accredited supervisor myself (2017).

More recently I’ve completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Transformational Leadership at Kings College London (2024) as part of my leadership responsibilities within the NHS.

Fees

My standard fees are £100/session, with a reduction in cost when sessions are purchased in a package.

I offer comprehensive Educational Psychology Assessments for £1100.

It’s important to me that psychological assessments and interventions are available to young people from all walks of life, and I offer reduced fees and payments plans when they are needed.
